The 1997 All-School Band Search

Purpose:To find the best bands from each school in the Anchorage School District, including Eagle River and Wasilla.
On selected Saturday nights each school will have their bands perform, and by audience response and a panel of judges the best band will be selected to advance to the finals.
The winner of the finals will get studio time, bookings at Gig's, and other prizes donated by local businesses.
Time:Sign up for band is through February 8th, and the competition begins on February 22nd. The schedule is shown below.
Terms:The majority of the members of the band must be from the school that they are representing.
Each band must be prepared to perform for 15 to 20 minutes (3 to 5 songs) of original music.
Gig's will provide the sound system, sound tech, stage lights and a backline that will include guitar/bass amps and drums. The bands are responsible for all their own instruments, i.e. guitars, keyboards and cymbals.

Judges: Casey Scott, Jordan Marshall (The Anchorage Press), and Tyler Carlson.
And the winner is...Subjugated Youth! Plus, a default win for Housecall, as the only band from West to sign up.
