Site information and random babble from the webmaster... |
The Gig's Music Theatre website was started sometime in November of 1995 (if I remember correctly), and has been maintained and updated since then as a labor of love (more or less...) by myself, Woody Hanscom. At the time I was also working at another local all-ages dance club, The Lost Abbey, and started playing with the website as a way to both give the clubs some exposure, and practice my HTML skills. Since then, the Lost Abbey has closed down, and I have been able to devote more time to significantly expanding and enhancing the Gig's website. The website is now in its third (I believe) major redesign, and when I finally get an idea in my head worth exploring, will probably be going through another fairly soon. I suppose I'm a glutton for punishment, but overall it's a lot of fun. All coding for the Gig's website is done on an Apple Macintosh 6100 computer using BBEdit (yes...I type it all out by hand). Graphics are created using a combination of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, GraphicConverter, and Macromedia Fireworks. Pages are proofed before uploading to my service provider in Internet Explorer 4.0 and Netscape Navigator 4.04, so any mistaikes (grin) are my own. All HTML code and graphics contained within the site are ©1995-1998 Woody Hanscom unless credited otherwise. The sole exceptions are the mural graphics at the top of each page, which are ©1997 Luke Keitner and are actually painted on the outside of the building, and the various award graphics displayed below. Any questions, comments, words of wisdom, or suggestions should be e-mailed to Woody Hanscom (woody@alaska.net). |
