It&#8217;s just grabbed a spot as my third-favorite commercial of all time.<\/p>\n<p>[Update:]{.underline}<\/p>\n<p>Even more jaw-droppingly amazing: this commercial <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailytelegraph.co.uk\/news\/main.jhtml?xml=%2Fnews%2F2003%2F04%2F13%2Fnhonda13.xml\" title=\"Lights! Camera! Retake!\"><em>isn&#8217;t faked<\/em><\/a>! What you see in the commercial is one successful two-minute long shot &#8212; no trick photography, no CGI. <em>Wow.<\/em> (via <a href=\"http:\/\/www.metafilter.com\/mefi\/25198\" title=\"...wow...\">MeFi<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>For the curious, my second-favorite ad is the &#8220;Rainier Beer Motorcycle&#8221; ad of the late 80&#8217;s. Very simple &#8212; just someone riding a motorcyle across the landscape &#8212; but even today, if you go up to just about anyone who watched TV during the time it was on, they&#8217;ll remember it. The kicker? The whine of the engine was a long, drawn-out, &#8220;Raaaaaaaiiiiiiii&#8230;&#91;gear change&#93;nniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeerrrrrrrr&#8230;&#91;gear change&#93;beeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrr&#8230;.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>All-time favorite ad, though, for quite a few reasons, is the Apple Computer &#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.uriah.com\/apple-qt\/1984.html\" title=\"Apple 1984 ad\">1984<\/a>&#8216; ad. Apple Computer, Ridley Scott, 1984 &#8212; a perfect ad.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This new ad for the Honda Accord (QuickTime required) is a definite must-see.
