America\">Howard Dean campaign<\/a> who are tied in enough to the &#8220;geek&#8221; side of the blogosphere to realize how big of a deal it could be that Dean is getting mentioned prominently by <a href=\"http:\/\/doc.weblogs.com\/2003\/07\/16#newCampaignFinanceMarketMechanics\" title=\"New Campaign Finance Market Mechanics\">Doc Searls<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/radio.weblogs.com\/0001011\/2003\/07\/17.html#a3818\" title=\"I usually don't write about politics here...\">Robert Scoble<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.backupbrain.com\/2003_07_13_archive.html#a003445\" title=\"One of the things that I like...\">Tom Negrino<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Much as Robert likes to claim he&#8217;s got all of 18 readers (which is about 12 more than I&#8217;ve got, I think), he, Doc, and Tom and his wife Dori Smith are some of the bigger names in the weblogging world. Robert&#8217;s one of the most well-known <a href=\"http:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/\" title=\"Microsoft\">Microsoft<\/a> webloggers and a Longhorn evangilist; Doc, among many other things, is the senior editor for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.linuxjournal.com\/\" title=\"Linux Journal\">Linux Journal<\/a>; and Tom and Dori are Mac fans and authors of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/0735616280\/djwudicom-20\" title=\"Microsoft Office v.X for Mac Inside Out\">several<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/0201735172\/djwudicom-20\" title=\"Visual QuickStart Guide (4th Edition)\">technical<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/0596005083\/djwudicom-20\" title=\"Mac OS X Unwired\">books<\/a>. Big names, getting Dean&#8217;s name out into tech circles. Could be a <em>very<\/em> good thing.
