{"id":1689,"date":"2003-09-04T16:47:15","date_gmt":"2003-09-05T06:47:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/michaelhans.com\/eclecticism\/2003\/09\/04\/debate-wrapups\/"},"modified":"2019-12-06T08:28:36","modified_gmt":"2019-12-06T16:28:36","slug":"debate-wrapups","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/michaelhans.com\/eclecticism\/2003\/09\/04\/debate-wrapups\/","title":{"rendered":"Debate wrapups"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While I didn&#8217;t get to watch tonight&#8217;s Democratic debate, there&#8217;s a good wrap up <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2003\/09\/05\/politics\/campaigns\/05DEBA.html\" title=\"Democrats seeking Presidency denounce Bush Iraq policy\">from the New York Times<\/a>, and some very interesting discussion in comment threads to posts on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailykos.com\/archives\/004048.html\" title=\"Talk about the debate\">Daily Kos<\/a> and Blog for America (in <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.deanforamerica.com\/archives\/001354.html\" title=\"The New Mexico Debate\">three<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.deanforamerica.com\/archives\/001355.html\" title=\"New Mexico Debate (Continued)\">seperate<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.deanforamerica.com\/archives\/001357.html\" title=\"More New Mexico Debate Reaction\">threads<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>From the gist of what I&#8217;ve read so far, it seems that while Dean wasn&#8217;t at his best, he did hold his spot at the top of the pack, while Lieberman came off like a complete ass. Some of the most interesting comments are on the Blog for America threads &#8212; hardcore Dean supporters who realize that Dean wasn&#8217;t at his best, and rather than either despairing or blindly declaring him the &#8216;winner&#8217;, they&#8217;re offering lots of constructive criticism and ideas on how to approach later debates.
