Today&#8217;s the #StarTrek50 anniversary \u2014 50 years since The Man Trap, the first broadcasted episode hit the air \u2014 and while I wasn&#8217;t around for that, Star Trek has been part of my life for longer than I can remember. And that&#8217;s quite literally true; there are family stories of me at about two, sitting on Dad&#8217;s lap, excitedly pointing saying &#8220;Speeesh!&#8221; and pointing somewhere back over my shoulder as the Enterprise swept across the screen in the opening credits.<br \/>\n#TNG was a staple of my high school years as my friends and I gathered at one house or another to watch, #DS9 is my pick for best total package, #VOY and #ENT are curiosities with occasional high points, and I&#8217;m very much looking forward to seeing what Bryan Fuller does with #DIS (#DSC? #STD?) come January. But #TOS will always be the heart and home of Star Trek for me.
