spent a good portion of the evening bouncing around various camera reviews and specifications, comparing all the various <a all of you!). Right now, I&#8217;m leaning towards one of two possibilities&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Option one is essentially what I was looking for recommendations for, a more immediately affordable smaller &#8220;point-and-shoot&#8221; camera. Right now, I&#8217;m leaning towards the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.powershot.com\/powershot2\/a80\/\" title=\"Canon PowerShot A80\">Canon PowerShot A80<\/a> (here&#8217;s the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dpreview.com\/reviews\/specs\/Canon\/canon_a80.asp?dontcount=1\" title=\"Canon PowerShot A80\">DPReview listing<\/a>). Small, good combination of features, a little more expensive than I was aiming for (\\$381.52[&#42;]\/\\$385[&#42;&#42;]) but it looks to be worth it.<\/p>\n<p>Option two is if I can hold off a little longer, save a bit more, and get paid back for a loan I made to a friend a few years back &#8212; in which case, I&#8217;ll go for a more powerful camera. While I&#8217;ve had my eye on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.canoneos.com\/digitalrebel\/\" title=\"EOS Digital Rebel\">Canon Digital Rebel<\/a> (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dpreview.com\/reviews\/specs\/Canon\/canon_eos300d.asp\" title=\"Canon EOS Digital Rebel\">DPReview listing<\/a>) (\\$1100.90[&#42;]\/\\$927.99 &#91;body only&#93;<a href=\"#mcr2\" title=\"Footnote 2\"><\/a>) for a while now, Nikon just announced their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nikonusa.com\/template.php?cat=1&amp;grp=2&amp;productNr=25214\" title=\"D70 Outfit\">D70<\/a> (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dpreview.com\/reviews\/specs\/Nikon\/nikon_d70.asp?dontcount=1\" title=\"Nikon D70\">DPReview listing<\/a>) (\\$1114.49[][&#42;]) which looks to handily best the Digital Rebel and should be out soon &#8212; but the <a href=\"http:\/\/konicaminolta.jp\/english\/products\/consumer\/digital_camera\/dimage\/dimage-a1\/index.html\" title=\"DiMAGE A1\">Minolta DiMAGE A1<\/a> (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dpreview.com\/reviews\/specs\/Konica_Minolta\/minolta_dimagea1.asp\" title=\"Minolta DiMAGE A1\">DPReview listing<\/a>) (\\$754.19[][&#42;]\/\\$736.40<a href=\"#mcr2\" title=\"Footnote 2\"><\/a>) is <em>really<\/em> catching my eye. It doesn&#8217;t have the lens-swapping capabilities of the other two, but really, I&#8217;m not likely to have the ability (financially or photographically) to worry about that for a long time to come, and the number of features it packs in for the price is fairly astounding.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll keep looking, though, to see if something else looks like a better deal.
