title=\"Twitch: djwudi\">my Twitch channel<\/a>, and I don&#8217;t think it went terribly badly&#8230;so I&#8217;m thinking I may do this on a semi-regular basis.<\/p>\n<p>Background: Like many, <em>many<\/em> people&#8230;I <a href=\"https:\/\/www.djwudi.com\/djwudi\/\" title=\"DJ W\u00fcdi\">used to be a DJ<\/a>. ;) Lately I&#8217;ve been missing it, so this is a way for me to start practicing again. I have no visions of getting back into clubs or anything along those lines (though it&#8217;s always a fun fantasy), but this should at least help scratch the itch a little bit.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.algoriddim.com\/djay-pro-mac\" title=\"Algoriddim: DJ Pro\">djay Pro 2<\/a> and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pioneerdj.com\/en-us\/product\/controller\/ddj-400\/black\/overview\/\" title=\"Pioneer DDJ-400\">Pioneer DDJ-400 mixer<\/a>, and figured out how to use <a href=\"https:\/\/obsproject.com\" title=\"OBS Studio\">OBS<\/a> (with some assistance from <a href=\"https:\/\/rogueamoeba.com\/loopback\/\" title=\"Rogue Amoeba: Loopback\">Loopback<\/a> to route the audio stream from djay to OBS so I wasn&#8217;t just broadcasting whatever my computer&#8217;s internal mic could pick up) to stream to Twitch. I&#8217;m also recording the video and audio output locally, and will upload those to my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/djwudi\/\" title=\"YouTube: djwudi\">YouTube<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mixcloud.com\/djwudi\/\" title=\"MixCloud: djwudi\">MixCloud<\/a> accounts within a few days after broadcasting.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the video for my first attempt (the audio kicks in at about 45 seconds).<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"DJ W\u00fcdi: Twitch Day 1\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6Gnzo5cTheg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>And here&#8217;s the audio on MixCloud.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"100%\" height=\"120\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mixcloud.com\/widget\/iframe\/?hide_cover=1&#038;feed=%2Fdjwudi%2Ftwitch-experiment-1%2F\" frameborder=\"0\" ><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In the future, I&#8217;ll figure out how to keep the Twitch chat channel up on a second screen so I can take requests as well (on the off chance people actually stop by to watch and listen live).<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s an experiment, and I&#8217;m not sure how long I&#8217;ll keep doing it, but for now, at least, it should be fun to play with.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kicking off an experiment with DJing live on Twitch.
