I think this was the first, and quite likely only, time I&#8217;ve ever seen a line to get into a library!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/michaelhans.com\/eclecticism\/graphics\/2004\/05\/graphics\/seattlelibrary.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelhans.com\/eclecticism\/graphics\/2004\/05\/graphics\/seattlelibrary-tm.jpg\" height=\"319\" width=\"400\" alt=\"The Seattle Central Library\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, the downside to hitting it on opening day was that there were just <em>so<\/em> many people there that it soon became overwhelming, and we soon decided that it would be easier to explore on a later date when it wasn&#8217;t as crowded. We made it through the first few levels of the building and really enjoyed what we saw, but it was all just a bit too much to take the full tour.
