trailers caught my eye today while I was waiting for <a href=\"https:\/\/michaelhans.com\/eclecticism\/2004\/05\/the_day_after_t.html\" title=\"The Day After Tomorrow\">The Day After Tomorrow<\/a> to start.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\/trailers\/dreamworks\/collateral\/\" title=\"Collateral\">Collateral<\/a>: <a href=\"http:\/\/us.imdb.com\/name\/nm0000129\/\" title=\"Tom Cruise\">Tom Cruise<\/a> finally loses the floppy in-the-face haircut, gains a more hard-edged look, and becomes a bad guy. Not sure one way or the other right now, but it didn&#8217;t get dismissed immediately.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\/trailers\/wb\/alexander\/\" title=\"Alexander\">Alexander<\/a>: <a href=\"http:\/\/us.imdb.com\/name\/nm0000231\/\" title=\"Oliver Stone\">Oliver Stone<\/a> biopic of Alexander the Great. I waffle back and forth on Oliver Stone&#8217;s films, but I&#8217;m betting that at the very least, he&#8217;ll be able to churn something out that&#8217;s both more entertaining and more accurate than Troy ended up being. Besides, the cast list (<a href=\"http:\/\/us.imdb.com\/name\/nm0268199\/\" title=\"Colin Farrell\">Colin Farrell<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/us.imdb.com\/name\/nm0001467\/\" title=\"Jared Leto\">Jared Leto<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/us.imdb.com\/name\/nm0000164\/\" title=\"Anthony Hopkins\">Anthony Hopkins<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/us.imdb.com\/name\/nm0001401\/\" title=\"Angelina Jolie\">Angelina Jolie<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/us.imdb.com\/name\/nm0000174\/\" title=\"Val Kilmer\">Val Kilmer<\/a>) looks pretty decent, and I&#8217;m just happy about seeing Val Kilmer showing up in something again.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\/trailers\/paramount\/the_stepford_wives\/\" title=\"The Stepford Wives\">The Stepford Wives<\/a>: Sure, this one&#8217;s been on my radar for a while now, but this is the first time I&#8217;d actually seen a full trailer. Having done so, I have to admit, I&#8217;m a lot less trepidatious about the film than I was before. Not only does presenting it as a comedy rather than as a thriller look more likely, but I noticed quite a few shots in the trailer that look to be practically lifted directly from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/asin\/B00005ASOL\/djwudicom-20\" title=\"The Stepford Wives\">original movie<\/a>, so they&#8217;re apparently making an attempt to respect the original film version, rather than just reworking the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/0060080841\/djwudicom-20\" title=\"The Stepford Wives\">original novel<\/a> entirely from scratch.
