{"id":2662,"date":"2004-07-10T14:13:57","date_gmt":"2004-07-11T04:13:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/michaelhans.com\/eclecticism\/2004\/07\/10\/de-lovely\/"},"modified":"2019-12-10T16:42:58","modified_gmt":"2019-12-11T00:42:58","slug":"de-lovely","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/michaelhans.com\/eclecticism\/2004\/07\/10\/de-lovely\/","title":{"rendered":"De-Lovely"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Quite aptly titled, this one. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.delovelymovie.com\/\" title=\"De-Lovely\">De-Lovely<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.coleporter.org\/\" title=\"Cole Wide Web\">Cole Porter<\/a> biopic is wonderful &#8212; good music (of course), wonderful to look at, and I wouldn&#8217;t be surprised at an Oscar nod for <a href=\"http:\/\/us.imdb.com\/name\/nm0000171\/\" title=\"Ashley Judd\">Ashley Judd<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>One question, though: fashions have been reaching into the past for &#8220;retro&#8221; looks for the past couple decades, with a lot of emphasis on the 70&#8217;s and 80&#8217;s. Could we <em>please<\/em> cast a little further back so that the fashions of the 30&#8217;s and 40&#8217;s would come back into style? There&#8217;s a level of class that seems to have gone missing, and I&#8217;d love to see it come back.<\/p>\n<p><strong>iTunes:<\/strong> &#8220;Let&#8217;s Do It (Let&#8217;s Fall in Love)&#8221; by Morissette, Alanis from the album <em>De-Lovely<\/em> (2004, 3:21).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Quite aptly titled, this one.
