was day one of what I&#8217;ve dubbed the &#8220;Men in Skirts&#8221; weekend, with a jaunt out to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ci.seattle.wa.us\/parks\/parkspaces\/Golden.htm\" title=\"Seattle Parks and Recreation: Golden Gardens Park\">Golden Gardens Park<\/a> for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.utilikilts.com\/\" title=\"Utilikilts\">Utilikilts<\/a> 5th Anniversary party.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/djwudi\/21552252\/\" title=\"Rock Crab, Golden Gardens Park, Seattle, WA\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/15\/21552252_6fd6d5436f_m.jpg\" width=\"240\" height=\"180\" alt=\"Rock Crab, Golden Gardens Park, Seattle, WA\" align=\"right\" \/><\/a>Prairie and I had a lot of fun exploring the park. Neither of us had been there before, so we bounced back and forth between the picnic and wandering up and down the beach. While clambering over rock piles and underneath a pier, Prairie got to show me a lot of sea critters that I hadn&#8217;t seen outside of aquariums before, from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/djwudi\/21552762\/\" title=\"Starfish, Golden Gardens Park, Seattle, WA\">huge starfish<\/a> to tiny <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/djwudi\/21552252\/\" title=\"Rock Crab, Golden Gardens Park, Seattle, WA\">rock crabs<\/a> that skittered away from us after she kicked over the rocks they were hiding under.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/djwudi\/21555741\/\" title=\"Me, Frisbee, Utilikilts Annivesary Party, Golden Gardens Park, Seattle, WA\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/15\/21555741_1cf6dd7edc_m.jpg\" width=\"180\" height=\"240\" alt=\"Me, Frisbee, Utilikilts Annivesary Party, Golden Gardens Park, Seattle, WA\" align=\"left\" \/><\/a>The picnic was also quite fun, with <em>really<\/em> good sausages and other potluck goodies to munch on, and quite a few Utilikiltarians (some of them employees, others, like me, customers and fans) chatting and playing. I spent some time playing frisbee out on the sand with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/djwudi\/21556279\/\" title=\"Steven, Frisbee, Utilikilts Annivesary Party, Golden Gardens Park, Seattle, WA\">Steven<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/djwudi\/21556798\/\" title=\"Jenneviere, Frisbee, Utilikilts Annivesary Party, Golden Gardens Park, Seattle, WA\">Jenniviere<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/djwudi\/21557484\/\" title=\"Jenneviere, Daniel, Ben, Utilikilts Annivesary Party, Golden Gardens Park, Seattle, WA\">Ben<\/a>&#8216;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/djwudi\/21557132\/\" title=\"Utilikilts Annivesary Party, Golden Gardens Park, Seattle, WA\">daughter<\/a> (amusingly, Ben and I know each other from Anchorage &#8212; long time ago) until my feet couldn&#8217;t take the hot sand anymore.<\/p>\n<p>We ended up bailing out around 4pm, as there were chores to putter with at home (fun things like laundry and a little bit of straightening up for visitors tomorrow).
