I just can&#8217;t resist the urge to fiddle around&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to <a href=\"http:\/\/markpasc.org\/weblog\/\" title=\"markpasc.org: Mark Paschal's weblog\">Mark Paschal<\/a>&#8216;s OpenId Comments plugin (<a href=\"http:\/\/markpasc.org\/weblog\/2005\/07\/01\/commenting_with_livejournal_and_openid_ii\" title=\"markpasc.org: Commenting with LiveJournal and OpenID II\">announced and described here<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/markpasc.org\/weblog\/2005\/08\/16\/openid_comments_for_mt_11\" title=\"markpasc.org: OpenID Comments for MT 1.1\">current release here<\/a>), visitors can now authenticate themselves when leaving comments using a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.livejournal.com\/\" title=\"LiveJournal\">LiveJournal<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/openid.net\/\" title=\"OpenID: an actually distributed identity system\">OpenID<\/a> account in addition to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.typekey.com\/\" title=\"TypeKey\">TypeKey<\/a> authentication (or no authentication at all).<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve also increased the width of the comment entry field, as it was a bit cramped (thanks to mom for <a href=\"https:\/\/michaelhans.com\/eclecticism\/2005\/05\/pop-lock.html#comment-19576\" title=\"Mom: Can you make the typing box for this expand clear across the column...\">prompting me on this<\/a>, as it was bugging me too).<\/p>\n<p>Leave a comment, play around, and let me know if anything seems goofy!<\/p>\n<p>(Update: Some goofiness exists. Generic, TypeKey, and LiveJournal options are working fine, OpenID comments are coming through as &#8216;anonymous&#8217; even though the commenting UI reports that they&#8217;re successfully signed in.
