This is actually fairly simple, but you never know.<\/p>\n

For ecto<\/a> users who want to post LiveJournal-style links to LJ user accounts (such as \"[djwudi's<\/a>djwudi<\/b><\/a>) into a weblog entry on a non-LJ system:<\/p>\n

  1. Open Window > HTML Tags<\/code>.<\/li>\n
  2. Click the +<\/code> button to create a new tag set.<\/li>\n
  3. Paste the following code into the ‘opening tag’ box (as a single line):\n
    <a href=\"http:\/\/www.livejournal.com\/userinfo.bml?user=%*\">\n<img src=\"http:\/\/stat.livejournal.com\/img\/userinfo.gif\" alt=\"[%*'s info]\" width=\"17\" height=\"17\" \/><\/a>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.livejournal.com\/users\/%*\/\"><b>\n<\/code><\/pre>\n<\/li>\n
  4. Paste the following code into the ‘closing tag’ box:\n
    <\/b><\/a>\n<\/code><\/pre>\n<\/li>\n
  5. Assign a command key sequence (optional, of course — I used option-command-J).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
    Viola! You’re done. Now, just type someone’s LJ username into a weblog post, select it, and choose the new tag set (or type the command key sequence you set), and the LJ-style link is created.
