It&#8217;s a trait that will occasionally raise its head at entirely inappropriate times.<\/p>\n<p>Like today, when I saw the following headline (which has since been replaced on CNN&#8217;s site):<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\">\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michaelhans.com\/eclecticism\/graphics\/2006\/02\/graphics\/cartoonprotesters.jpg\" height=\"61\" width=\"289\" border=\"0\" hspace=\"0\" vspace=\"0\" alt=\"Tear gas, gunfire beat back cartoon protesters\" \/>\n<\/div>\n<p>All I could see in my head was a <a href=\"http:\/\/images.google.com\/images?svnum=10&amp;hl=en&amp;lr=&amp;safe=off&amp;client=safari&amp;rls=en&amp;q=%22toon+town%22+%22roger+rabbit%22&amp;btnG=Search\" title=\"Google image search for ''toon town' 'roger rabbit''\">Toon Town<\/a> riot, and I couldn&#8217;t help laughing. Wrong, and I&#8217;m going to hell&#8230;but funny.<\/p>\n<p>(For the record, I think the <a href=\"http:\/\/seattlepi.nwsource.com\/local\/259018_cartoons10.html\" title=\"Seattle PI: Area Muslims channel anger over cartoons\">local Muslim community<\/a> is doing a <em>far<\/em> better job of responding to the cartoons than the rioters are. Also, until I read <a href=\"http:\/\/seattlepi.nwsource.com\/local\/259018_cartoons10.html\" title=\"Seattle PI: Area Muslims channel anger over cartoons\">this article<\/a>, I had no idea that the it was considered blasphemous to portray images of Mohammed.
