Bad Company is the only one of those three that I&#8217;ve ever heard of.<\/p>\n<p>Hrm.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a dilemma. On the one hand, I&#8217;m a <em>long<\/em> time <a href=\"http:\/\/click.linksynergy.com\/fs-bin\/stat?id=xLsJkztrnNY&amp;offerid=78941&amp;type=3&amp;subid=0&amp;tmpid=1826&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fphobos.apple.com%2FWebObjects%2FMZStore.woa%2Fwa%2FviewArtist%3Fa%3D3296287%26s%3D143441%26partnerId%3D30\" title=\"iTMS: Queen\">Queen<\/a> fan, and they have been one of the groups I&#8217;ve always wished I&#8217;d had a chance to see live &#8212; something I&#8217;d given up on when Freddy died. So the chance to see even 3\/4 of Queen with someone else standing in is <em>very<\/em> enticing.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand&#8230;it&#8217;s not Freddy. Will the show still sound right? Does Paul have the stage presence that Freddy did (while I never saw them, I <em>love<\/em> listening to the live album &#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/click.linksynergy.com\/fs-bin\/stat?id=xLsJkztrnNY&amp;offerid=78941&amp;type=3&amp;subid=0&amp;tmpid=1826&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fphobos.apple.com%2FWebObjects%2FMZStore.woa%2Fwa%2FviewAlbum%3Fp%3D27031767%26s%3D143441%26partnerId%3D30\" title=\"iTMS: Queen: Live Killers\">Live Killers<\/a>&#8216; in large part because of the incredible rapport Freddy had with his audience)? There are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.7digital.com\/stores\/productDetail.aspx?shop=14&amp;product=10337&amp;sid=69047\" title=\"The Queen Store: Queen + Paul Rodgers: Europe Live\">sample downloads<\/a> on the Queen + Paul Rodgers website, but they&#8217;re in a Windows Media format that doesn&#8217;t seem to play nice with OS X, so I can&#8217;t listen to any of them.<\/p>\n<p>Ooh, wait&#8230;in the &#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.queenpluspaulrodgers.com\/media.php\" title=\"Queen + Paul Rodgers: Media\">Media<\/a>&#8216; section, there are some clips in a .wmv format that <em>does<\/em> play nice in OS X. I&#8217;m&#8230;not sold. The music is right, but the vocals&#8230;I&#8217;m not sure. While I wouldn&#8217;t expect it to sound <em>exactly<\/em> like Freddy (and I really do like the job <a href=\"http:\/\/click.linksynergy.com\/fs-bin\/stat?id=xLsJkztrnNY&amp;offerid=78941&amp;type=3&amp;subid=0&amp;tmpid=1826&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fphobos.apple.com%2FWebObjects%2FMZStore.woa%2Fwa%2FviewArtist%3Fa%3D894337%26s%3D143441%26partnerId%3D30\" title=\"iTMS: George Michael\">George Michael<\/a> did with them a few years back&#8230;I thought he made a <a href=\"http:\/\/click.linksynergy.com\/fs-bin\/stat?id=xLsJkztrnNY&amp;offerid=78941&amp;type=3&amp;subid=0&amp;tmpid=1826&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fphobos.apple.com%2FWebObjects%2FMZStore.woa%2Fwa%2FviewArtist%3Fa%3D806536%26s%3D143441%26partnerId%3D30\" title=\"iTMS: Lisa Stansfield, George Michael and Queen: These Are the Days of Our Lives\">very impressive<\/a> pseudo-Freddy), Paul&#8217;s got enough of a different timbre that it makes it a little jarring to my ears.<\/p>\n<p>No matter what, I should decide soon: the show&#8217;s on April 10th (a Monday night), and tickets are a little painful (ranging from $50 to <em>$200.00<\/em>!).
