He was also mentioned in the book I&#8217;m reading now, <a href=\"https:\/\/michaelhans.com\/eclecticism\/2002\/06\/schrodingers_ca.html\" title=\"Eclecticism: The Schrodinger's Cat Trilogy\">The Schroedinger&#8217;s Cat Trilogy<\/a>, by Robert A. Wilson. Quite the interesting &#8212; and very real &#8212; character, he declared himself Emperor of the United States in 1859.
