Enjoy!<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.movabletype.org\/\" title=\"MovableType\">Movable Type<\/a>&#8216;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.movabletype.org\/trackback\/\" title=\"Trackback Development\">Trackback<\/a> feature has been implemented. It&#8217;s a little confusing to try to explain, but in essence, it&#8217;s a way to track links and comments across multiple blogs. When I link to someone that uses TB, then a link to my post will show up on their site, and when someone links to me using TB, then my post will show a link to their site. More information <a href=\"http:\/\/www.movabletype.org\/trackback\/archives\/000300.html\" title=\"Trackback Development: Feature: Trackback\">can be found here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This is more for my own use, but I&#8217;ve implemented PromoGuy&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.promoguy.net\/archives\/001399.php\" title=\"PromoGuy: MT Hack: More Detailed Comments Notification\">comment e-mail hack<\/a> to give me more detailed Subject info in the e-mail I receive when someone posts a comment to my site, and his <a href=\"http:\/\/www.promoguy.net\/archives\/001335.php\" title=\"PromoGuy: MT Hack: Get a user's IP info\">comment IP hack<\/a> to tell me a bit more about the comments left on my site. And, lastly, he had a similar hack for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.promoguy.net\/archives\/001397.php\" title=\"PromoGuy: MT Hack: More Detailed Trackback Notifications\">Trackback notifications<\/a> that looked good, so I dropped that in there too. Hmm&#8230;wonder what he&#8217;ll think of getting three trackback pings from me all at once when this post goes up&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>Another that only really affects me, is a <a href=\"http:\/\/kalsey.com\/blog\/2002\/08\/comment_notification_hack.stm\" title=\"Kalsey Consulting: Comment notification hack\">quick little hack<\/a> so that when I post a comment, I don&#8217;t get the notification e-mail. That always seemed a little silly anyway.<\/p>\n<p>Lastly, with the change I made in the archiving (adding a directory structure), the &#8220;Go &raquo;&#8221; link on the &#8216;Recent Comments&#8217; section was broken. I posted a question asking about how to fix it on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.movabletype.org\/cgi-bin\/ikonboard\/ikonboard.cgi?s=3d73f8e22e32ffff;act=ST;f=14;t=7491\" title=\"MT Support: Last 'n' comments w\/archive directories?\">MovableType support forums<\/a>, and was pointed to <a href=\"http:\/\/mt.sixapart.com\/cgi-bin\/ikonboard\/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=14;t=5357\" title=\"MT Support: Title of Entries for MTComment\">this thread<\/a>, which had a hack to do exactly what I needed.<\/p>\n<p>And I think that&#8217;s it for this round.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yes, ladies and gents, it&#8217;s another in my rapidly-growing list of complete geek posts.
