Or maybe &#8216;stoopidity&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s just come to my attention that in my post &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/michaelhans.com\/eclecticism\/2001\/09\/kudos_to_the_on.html\" title=\"Eclecticism: Kudos to the Onion\">Kudos to the Onion<\/a>&#8220;, and in Kirsten&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/michaelhans.com\/eclecticism\/2002\/09\/stoopid_with_tw.html#c219053\" title=\"Kirsten: Your dad's quote...\">comments<\/a> to &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/michaelhans.com\/eclecticism\/2002\/09\/stoopid_with_tw.html\" title=\"Eclecticism: Stoopid. With two 'O's.\">Stoopid. With two &#8216;O&#8217;s.<\/a>&#8220;, my site is in violation of The Onion&#8217;s (don&#8217;t-)<a href=\"http:\/\/www.theonion.com\/onion_help\/faq_web_links.html\" title=\"Onion Help and FAQ: Linking to The Onion\">link policy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\n  <strong>Can I use a headline to link to The Onion on my site?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>  The Onion does not support the use of its headlines without the express written consent of the publisher. Looks like whatever &#8216;powers that be&#8217; that exist at The Onion have decided to join the many other sites with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dontlink.com\/\" title=\"Don't Link to Us!\">stupid anti-linking policies<\/a>. That&#8217;s a shame, too.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, well. I&#8217;ll keep everything linked as it is, until such time as I get a cease-and-desist letter from the Onion (not likely to happen &#8212; this isn&#8217;t exactly a highly-trafficked site &#8212; but ya never know, do ya?). If that happens&#8230;well, I&#8217;ll probaby end up taking all links to The Onion off my site. Would be a bummer, but hey (shrugs).
