Hm. Yeah.<\/p>\n<p>The Christmas vacation was really good. Relaxed at home a lot during the days, and hung out with as many friends as possible during the eveings. As always, things got a little crazy towards the tail end of the trip, so I missed out on seeing a few people (most notably <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alaska.net\/~royce\/\" title=\"Royce Williams' Norwegian Kickboxing Page\">Royce<\/a>, which I&#8217;m <em>terribly<\/em> sorry about), but on the whole, I got ahold of most everyone I wanted to.<\/p>\n<p>Got a good bit o&#8217; loot, too, of course. :D A <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spam.com\/\" title=\"SPiced hAM\">SPAM<\/a> calendar <em>and<\/em> can of SPAM, Mississippi John Hurt&#8217;s &#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/B0000636A8\/djwudicom-20\" title=\"Mississippi John Hurt 'Live'\">Live<\/a>&#8216; album on CD, and a bunch of books: Robert J. Sawyer&#8217;s &#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/0812580354\/djwudicom-20\" title=\"Robert J. Sawer 'Calculating God'\">Calculating God<\/a>&#8216;, Niccolo Machiavelli&#8217;s &#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/0226500438\/djwudicom-20\" title=\"Niccolo Machiavelli 'The Prince'\">The Prince<\/a>&#8216; (2nd edition), Tanith Lee&#8217;s &#8216;The Secret Books of Paradys&#8217; Books I-IV (in two volumes \u2014 Amazon only has them <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/0879516976\/djwudicom-20\" title=\"Tanith Lee 'The Book of the Damned: The Secret Books of Paradys I'\">as<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/0879514175\/djwudicom-20\" title=\"Tanith Lee 'The Book of the Beast: The Secret Books of Paradys II'\">four<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/087951440X\/djwudicom-20\" title=\"Tanith Lee 'The Book of the Dead: The Secret Books of Paradys III'\">seperate<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/0879514817\/djwudicom-20\" title=\"Tanith Lee 'The Book of the Mad: The Secret Book of Paradys IV'\">volumes<\/a>), and a 1911 copy of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/0198121326\/djwudicom-20\" title=\"The Oxford Book of German Verse\">The Oxford Book of German Verse<\/a> \u2014 auf Deutsch! Very cool.<\/p>\n<p>Kevin and I weren&#8217;t able to do our usual Christmas Day tradition of going out to Son of River City Billards (and having Kevin completely whup my butt at pool), unfortunately, because thanks to the California-style smoking ban enacted in Anchorage at the beginning of 2001, SoRCB had lost all of their big-time customers, and have apparently recently closed down. So, rather than that, we went out to see <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/michaelhans.com\/eclecticism\/2002\/12\/the_two_towers.html\" title=\"The Two Towers\">Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers<\/a><\/strong> instead (my second time, his first). Not quite as interactive as a good few hours of clumsy pool, but still enjoyable.<\/p>\n<p>I got to see and go out with quite a few friends while I was there, including Erica, Gracie, Darrell, Candice, Mary, and quite a few other people I know, both from the real world and the online world of the <a href=\"http:\/\/chat.yahoo.com\/\" title=\"Yahoo! Chat\">Yahoo chatrooms<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>All in all, a very enjoyable trip.<\/p>\n<p>Except for the 15 degree below zero weather. Ugh. I am <em>so<\/em> not moving back to Alaska.
