Well, it's a strange story...

Apparently, playing live, Trent has a habbit of taking of his boots 
(black patent leathr of course) towards the end of the show and cutting 
them to pieces with a knife. Like, slicing the tongue out, cutting all the 
laces, and detaching the 'shoe' part from the 'leg' part. The latter he 
sometimes throws into the audience.

Because he doesn't do the boot-hacking trick at every concert, and he 
doesn't throw bits into the moshpit each time, these boot legs are highly 
sought-after by collectors with more money than sense. I personally think 
it's all a little sad, after all it's not like he's Elvis or anything.
