I’m speechless.
BBI proudly introduces the latest issue in its Elite Force series of authentic military 12- inch figures, President George W. Bush in naval aviator flight uniform. Exacting in detail and fully equipped with authentic gear, this limited-edition action figure is a meticulous 1:6 scale recreation of the Commander-in-Chief’s appearance during his historic Aircraft Carrier landing. On May 1, 2003, President Bush landed on the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) in the Pacific Ocean, and officially declared the end to major combat in Iraq. While at the controls of an S-3B Viking aircraft from the “Blue Sea Wolves” of Sea Control Squadron Three Five (VS-35), designated “Navy 1,” he overflew the carrier before handing it over to the pilot for landing. Attired in full naval aviator flight equipment, the President then took the salute on the deck of the carrier.
This fully poseable figure features a realistic head sculpt, fully detailed cloth flight suit, helmet with oxygen mask, survival vest, g-pants, parachute harness and much more. The realism and exacting attention to detail demanded by today’s 12-inch action figure enthusiast are met and exceeded with this action figure. This incredibly detailed figure is a fitting addition to the collection of those interested in U.S. history, military memorabilia and toy action figures. Actual figure may vary slightly from item shown.
Apparently no word on whether it comes with a sock to stuff down the front of the flightsuit.
Might be worth it to buy one just to stick pins in it. Voodoo, anyone?
But then, where would you stick the pins? Head is no good – no brain. Crotch? Nope, he lost whatever may have once been there when Rove took over. Heart? Forget that, he’s a Republican. Hasn’t got one.
On second thought, may not be worth it, after all.
I think I’m going to puke…………
This man is neither authentic or military. The uniform was worn one time for a staged event. Regardles of his declaration, the war has not ended, though, in fairness, it may have changed phases.
This is an insult to those who are authentic and military.
but he sure looks hot!
You still have two options on the voodoo attempts, Len –
Feed the doll a pretzel
(or hell, just wrap one around his neck…)
or
pin to the lower intestine
if anything, maybe it would be a really embarrasing ‘like-father-like-son’ moment – rather than puking in japan he could have a blowout at dinner with Tony Blair. Or perhaps he’d just have to go in for another colon screening or five. Or both.
I wonder if it comes in a Vietnam draft-dodger model ?
I wonder if it comes in a Vietnam draft-dodger model ?
Come on – he completed most of his tour as a security policeman for the Texas Air National Guard!
Let’s start a countdown until they enact a new law making it illegal to deface (or otherwise mutilate or neglect) these new dolls.
Did you catch this vomitous follow-up?
From the Pensacola News Journal, 3 July:
The Navy jet that ferried President George W. Bush to the USS Abraham Lincoln to announce the end of major combat in Iraq will land permanently this month at Pensacola’s National Museum of Naval Aviation.
The Viking S-3B, dubbed Navy One after the president’s May 1 flight, is scheduled to land at Pensacola Naval Air Station on July 15, said retired Vice Adm. Jack Fetterman, president and chief executive officer of the museum’s foundation.
Pensacola’s aviators say beyond representing a type of aircraft with a 30-year distinguished service record, this Viking brings a sense of history that other examples do not.
“After a very successful military operation in Iraq, and after that victory was secured, the commander in chief very properly went out to visit the troops on that carrier,” said Pensacola Mayor John Fogg, a former Blue Angels pilot. “And he is the first sitting president to ever get an arrested (aircraft carrier) landing. It makes it much more interesting, much more historically significant to people because of that.”
Bush’s flight to the Lincoln, his emergence on deck in a Naval flight suit and the nationally televised address that followed has been criticized by some as a taxpayer-funded, re-election advertisement.
Like Stephen, I eagerly await the AWOL Cokehead Action Figure, the Failed Oilman Action Figure, and the Ignorant Yale Graduate Action Figure…
you’re all just jealous ’cause he’s so cool!!! He knows what Americans want and he’s just the man to give it to ’em. I’m gonna get one for every niece and nephew for Christmas!!! C’mon America, spend spend spend, buy buy buy, let’s get this economy rollin’!!!!!
You’re are all just bummed cause he’s doing exactly what a president is should be doing, and doing it very well. You’re having a lot of trouble swallowing the fact that it’s being done by a republican. There are politicians, and there are leaders. His job is no doubt very political, but he is no doubt a leader. I wonder how any of you would do his job more effectively.
Liberals hate him because he puts America first and understands the true nature of man in this world. He also recognizes the significance of his position and his duty. Here is man who has chosen to do what is necessary to win . . . . go figure, a leader who puts his nation’s interests first! As a former officer and veteran of two military services, it is good to have a real commander-in-chief in charge and running the show. Just imagine what we could do if his predecessor had not turned the military into a social experiment/social program. All things considered, we are doing quite well with our kinder gentler less combat ready but feel good military. The only whiners about this topic sure seem to be cut from the same mold . . . those who have no clue of what it is to go in harm’s way and no courage to do anything but complain. The man flew an S-3 because he could . . . he was once a military pilot. Air Guard pilots are USAF pilots like it or not, get it? Oh . . . and this man never said he “loathed the military and all it stood for” like his predecessor . . . you know . . . the guys who not only made 9/11 a possibility but a reality. Dummy warriors . . . you know who you are, keep it to yourselves. The bad joke this old soldier sees here is you. And then, those who serve love and respect him, unlike your Billy boy. Those who will but this figure are most likely those who serve or have served . . . ponder that!
I am a military aviator, and a combat veteran of OIF and OEF, and I and my fellow military members saw Pres Bush landing on the carrier as a wonderful gesture by a wonderful leader. Never look to a military member to speak badly about their commander-in-chief. His carrier landing showed the spirit, enthusiasm and loyalty he has for his airmen, soldiers, sailors and marines. We are fortunate to have such a leader.
Yes he may be sending soldiers out to fight the war but he didn’t exactly dive into the war (Vietnam) head first when he had the chance himself. I’m a conservative but I have serious doubts about whether our President is really trying to prove something to himself rather than doing it for the good of the country.
This is Bush elder, not the Shrub. I didn’t particularly care for GHW Bush, but he’s made himself less obnoxious by distancing himself from the Sap’s presidency.
Now, the Texas ANG figure has the bubble-headed guy.
