Oh, and just in case you’ve been considering upgrading or switching, Apple announced bigger iPods and faster iMacs this morning. The iMac base models are now \$1299 for a 1Ghz G4, and \$1799 for a 1.25Ghz G4. Not bad at all.
Meanwhile, I’m still waiting for my new G5 to show up — which is okay, since I’m also still scraping together the last little bit of cash I need to finish paying for the fool thing!
Wow. This iPod sounds really cool. I’ve just started hearing about it myself. Yes, yes! I know. I’m just waiting for it to work with Linux, and then I’ll be set to go. I don’t even know if Apple cares about Linux.
Well, while I doubt that an iPod/Linux combination would be officially supported by Apple, I did find a site for people who are working on it themselves. I didn’t poke through enough to know how much success they’ve had, but it’s a start.
Do you know if they let you trade in a old iPod and pay extra and then you pay extra for a new iPod?
