Now on LiveJournal – me!

This entry was published at least two years ago (originally posted on October 20, 2003). Since that time the information may have become outdated or my beliefs may have changed (in general, assume a more open and liberal current viewpoint). A fuller disclaimer is available.

I only found this out a short time ago, but it appears that the online journaling site LiveJournal has limited support for picking up RSS feeds. As it turns out, someone added Eclecticism to their list of available feeds — so if there are any LiveJournal users who stop by here at any time, you can add me to your ‘friends’ list by adding [woody_eclectic].

I just wish there were a way for me to figure out who all had me added. According to the information page, there are three LiveJournal users who have me in their friends list. I know who two are…but who’s the mysterious third?

Maybe I’ve got a secret admirer.

Ooooooh.

  1. I guess I’m the elusive 3rd.

I actually created the syndication account on LJ because I wanted to see how syndication worked
and I knew you had a feed. Plus, I pop in on your webpage on occasion to read about geeky stuff related
to running a webserver on a Mac using OS X. I’ve only just begun to fiddle w/ Apache myself.

We’ve actually met in person up in AK through DeAnna Berger (Bartlett H.s.).
    I’m married to DeAnna (kalyx).

  2. Oh dear. Something horrible just popped into my head: setting that LJ syndication feed name to song, i.e., “I sing the woody eclectic…” I really need to quit posting comments just as I wake up.

  3. Phil: I’m going to have that running through my head all day now. Evil, evil man. Funny — but evil.

Nate: Rock on — that clears it up! I actually sent DeAnna a quick (and quite possibly incoherent, I was both tired and tipsy) e-mail last night after I found myself on her friends list, as I hadn’t heard about either of you in ages. Good to know you’re both still kicking around out there…and (late) congratulations on your wedding!

  4. That’s okay. I just added you to my LJ. I’ve got tons of codes if you ever need one for another journal. I’ve been currently checking out typepad and so far finding enough material to keep up two journals has been…interesting…
