So…when did CNN start hiring The Onion‘s writers?
Oh, wait. They’re serious?
Amazing.
At least he’s actually acting like a President for once. Pity that it took this long, this big of a catastrophe, this many dead people, and I’d bet that it’s motivated more by his tanking approval rate than any real sense of responsibility…but at least it’s something.
“Nothing Really Matters (Kruder and Dorfmeister)” by Madonna from the album Nothing Really Matters (1999, 11:10).
I’m sure after a lengthy debate in the oval office he came to terms with the fact that, this time he couldn’t blame Osama, Iraq, Iran or North Korea for what happened.
The road less travelled…
But seriously he IS responsible… to me one of the main reasons things went so terribly wrong is the huge amount of weaponry that is stockpiled in the south. After the Tsunami many rushed in to help those trapped and wounded… if they did that in New Orleans they would have been shot on sight.
Amazing, when I heard it on the news over here I did not believe it. This must be the first time he has taken the responsibility.
What staggers me however is the fact that he could for so long say that it was all going great and there was not problems.
Tomb, I agree about the weapons, the seige mentality of the people scared me. I will stand and defend my pile of sticks and stones with my life.
So, have the governor and mayor taken responsibility for THEIR failings yet?
Seriously, I can guarantee that if Bush moved into New Orleans on Day 0, evacuated everyone (whether they liked it or not), and sent the looters to Guantanamo Bay, people STILL wouldn’t be happy.
