The music in Apple’s clever Intel processor ad sounded really familiar, and after running it around in my head for a bit, I figured it out.
It’s Moby‘s ‘God Moving Over the Face of the Waters‘, which I have on the soundtrack to Heat (which, incidentally, is one of my favorite soundtrack albums, and a really good movie to boot).
Just in case anyone else is curious.
“God Moving Over the Face of the Waters” by Moby from the album Heat (1995, 6:58).
Certainly one of the greatest, most special and unique soundtracks I have. Great song, it really conveys emotion and it’s one of Moby’s finest moments. And a great movie, too; Michael Mann did a terrific job O:-)
Thanks for posting this as, after watching the new ad thought “man, I like that song” and now I can buy it. :)
Thanks for the music title. The music was driving me crazy and I couldn’t place it to which film – I knew it was from a film score. And yes I own “Heat” and now it’s all so obvious.
Thank goodness for google and folks like you.

Thankyou so much for putting me out of my misery playing it right now what a track “well done champ”
Thanks for the name! well done!
Agreed. Thanks for piecing it together. I was scouring Moby’s 18 & Play to no avail.
It’s originally off of the 1995 Moby album Everything Is Wrong. Another song off the same album was used at the close of the 2nd episode of this season’s Sopranos (season 6). When It’s Cold I’d Like To Die. Just in case anyone was curious.
What a star!
I’ve been asking in stores for ages for this; I was convinced it was Michael Nyman or Philip Glass, which didn’t help….
Thanks for posting
