Birthday 33

This entry was published at least two years ago (originally posted on May 3, 2006). Since that time the information may have become outdated or my beliefs may have changed (in general, assume a more open and liberal current viewpoint). A fuller disclaimer is available.

Happy birthday to me,
I’m now thirty-three,
I should have better words here,
but I suck at poetry.

Also: today marks two years since I decided to stop shaving my head and let my hair grow out. The result, after two years without a haircut: lots and lots of curls.

  1. Hickory dickory dock,
    Michael’s stopped cutting his locks,
    The shears are gone,
    And now it’s long,
Long and curly all on top!

    Hickory dickory day,
And did I forget to say?
    Distracted by,
    Long hair flowing nigh,
    To you a Happy Birthday!

    :)

  2. Happy Birthday, Mike. I traveled 12,500 miles to be at your birth. It was one of the most moving experiences of my life.

I was also struck, as was the writer above, how much you look, in that one picture, like Joshua ben Joseph. Did you know there is a [minority] opinion in Christianity that Jesus had red hair?

    Mom will love your curls.

Sometime today, I plan on going to Amazon and selecting something. Be patient. It will be there. Have you and Prairie receved the box I sent? It went by tortise.

    Love to you both

    Dad

  3. I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought of J.C when they saw that picture. It is a great picture though.

Now I have Depeche Mode stuck in my head.

    sigh

    Happy Birthday!

  4. Only about 12 years to go and you’ll catch up with Kev’s “no hair cut” record!

I LOVE THE CURLS! Like Noah’s — although you had a LOT MORE at 2 than he, but then, again, you were born with hair!

    Love you much Kiddo

  5. Better late than never? I emailed on the day, but didn’t comment. The more things change, the less they stay the same. :)

    Happy Birthday, bub.

  6. Congratulations on making another trip around the sun! I’m sure we would have had a big party for you if you hadn’t abdicated the state. :)

  7. SOrry so late but as I explained today, I’ve spent three weeks in the hospital :((. Anywho, happy birthday!!! Late :(
