    • I’m going to avoid the viaduct… The central portion of the Alaskan Way Viaduct was ranked on the same scale. Its score: Nine percent. And if that doesn’t make you want to stay away from the viaduct until they tear the damn thing down, perhaps knowing that the National Bridge Inventory considers it “basically intolerable” will.

    • Back from Vegas We're back! It was a wonderful trip -- three days having a _lot_ of fun bouncing around Vegas with Xebeth. I'll get more ramblings up eventually...for the moment, though, it's just good to be back home.

    • It’s not all bad, really! Last month, I mentioned that I'd been in contact with a magazine reporter who was working on a story about weblogs and some of the potential pitfalls that can come about when recording your life online for the world to see. It appears that Anil has also been contacted by a reporter working on a similar story, and he ended up having some of the same reservations that I did.
    • Condolences Over the course of the past few days, Jessica Wilkinson, a regular member at the Vogue, went missing. Yesterday, her family officially filed a missing persons report with the police, and word started spreading around the various Seattle communities. Last night, the police contacted her family to let them know that she had passed away in her apartment. Nothing else is known at this point.

    • Destinations Not much in the way of posting tonight. Instead, I concentrated on converting the 'Destinations' section of my sidebar so that all items now have comment and TrackBack ability, and there are archives for items that have scrolled off the page.
    • 58 years ago today August 6th marks the 58th anniversary of the A-bomb being dropped on Hiroshima.
    • It's a (rainbow) banner year I'm sure we've still got a long way to go before someone's sexuality matters as little in how we view them as does…oh, well, so we've got a long way to go no matter what. Still, these events give me hope.
    • Not politically correct Would a woman being promoted to the highest level of military service be considered a 'broad Generalization'?
