- Bad Math What all this adds up to is laundry taking an absolutely _ridiculous_ amount of time to do. I started my two loads at around five this afternoon. It's now eight in the evening, and I'm looking at, oh, at least another hour and a half if all goes well. ➡
- Old Technology Does anyone out there have any need for an official Windows 2000 Professional install CD, complete with serial number? Update: Eight minutes later, it's spoken for. You people scare me. ;) ➡
- Bridal Parties are Fun! At least, as long as your definition of 'fun' includes 20-some 20-something sorority girls drinking far too much alcohol, being incredibly loud, having no concept that there's anyone else on the dance floor, nearly starting a fight near the bar, and eventually having one of them carried out of the bathroom by two big beefy guys because there was no way she'd be able to walk. ➡

- Kilt #2: Mocker The only problem I've had so far with owning a kilt is that I only owned one kilt. As much as I like wearing the kilt for general day-to-day use, wearing the same garment every day can get a little questionable, no matter how cool the garment is. Plus, laundry days pretty much necessitate going back to pants while the kilt is in the wash. ➡
- Ebert’s obsession with Brittany Murphy Mike pointed to Ebert's review of 'Little Black Book' today, pointing out an entertaining anecdote about actress Brittany Murphy. ➡
- Bizarre homophobic Fox News attack on Disney When Disney president Robert Iger went on Fox News to do a brief promotional spot for the Dream Desk (news or commercial…who can tell?), he was suddenly blindsided by host Stuart Varney's homophobic attack on the (not Disney-sponsored) 'Gay Days' at Disney World. ➡

- George W. Bush action figure BBI proudly introduces the latest issue in its Elite Force series of authentic military 12- inch figures, President George W. Bush in naval aviator flight uniform. ➡
- A Senegalese view of Bush's Africa trip Today I was forwarded this letter, originally by an anonymous Senegalese woman, giving her impression of our esteemed President's visit — and the impression of America and Americans it left behind. ➡
- Good luck, Reed Best of luck, Reed. Come home safely. ➡
- Almost there! I got my latest vacation check today. So, adding that to what I already had saved up in my PayPal account, I now have just over $2000 saved for my new computer! ➡
- Flash Mobs…so what? Maybe it's just me, but this whole >flash mob meme is already getting old. In my mind, it jumped the shark when Scoble publicly organized one on his weblog (no offense, Robert!). ➡
- Interpreting the Bible Nick pointed me to this post from Harold Paxton looking at the recent election of Bishop Robinson from the exact opposite point of view than mine. There's certainly nothing wrong with that — as Mark Twain (I believe) said, it's differences of opinion that make horse races. ➡

- [From Usenet 8.7.95 2300] So, what's the deal? Doing an alternative/industrial all-ages club up here in Anchorage, but it can be hard to get new stuff.... Thing is, some of the stuff you had mentioned in an earlier post wasn't all that new, wasn't sure if I should reply or not. ➡
