- Battle Flag Lo-Fidelity All Stars' 'Battle Flag' is one of the few times when I've heard a group release a de-profanitized radio-friendly edit of a track that I actually prefer to the original uncensored version. ➡

- Links for December 2nd through December 9th Sometime between December 2nd and December 9th, I thought this stuff was interesting. You might think so too! ➡

- Comcast Clarification Looks like I've got my answer: our Limited Basic service shouldn't change. Here are the relevant tweets... ➡
- Comcast Confusion Well, maybe this transition thing isn't as cleared up as I thought. An update to the earlier article about Comcast's transition to (nearly) all-digital broadcasting went online, and it seems to be contradicting what I was told earlier. ➡
- UtiliTV As long as I'm babbling about the boob tube and whining about cable pricing, I might as well toss out my pie-in-the-sky, never-going-to-happen concept for what _I_ want as an option. I actually have two possible concepts, both of which seem like they'd be very doable in the present or soon-to-exist all-digital world. ➡
- Maybe @comcastcares after all! I'm used to 'customer service' that actually _prevents_ me from even making an attempt. Being able to toss off a short, quick note and get a useful and polite response within a few hours is _wonderful_. ➡

- iTunes Signature Maker iTSM selects a small number of your 'favorite' tracks based on some simple selection criteria, such as the number of times you have played them or the rating you have assigned them. Then it analyzes the audio content of these files, combining a small bit of each of them to create the signature. ➡
- That school thing Well, it's official -- there will be no financial aid for me in the immediate future. Since aid for the current '05-'06 year is determined by how much was made in 2004, and as I was applying for winter quarter, I just don't qualify. Meh. ➡

- Safari bug: Amazon Associates Build-A-Link I'm battling a Safari bug on the Amazon Associates Build-A-Link tool where code inside a textarea doesn't appear when the page is rendered. ➡
- 3-Way Capitalism? Mom and Dad just got back to Anchorage after a trip to Florida and Indiana to visit Mom's parents and Dad's family, respectively, and Dad just posted his pictures with commentary. ➡
- The Dominion War keeps distracting me… The war is at its peak now that the Breen have joined forces with the Dominion, the Founders appear to be dying, Gul Dukat (disguised as a Bajoran) is manipulating Kai Wynn's lust for power on Bajor to try to release the Pah Wraiths, and we just lost the Defiant in a major battle. ➡
- Gore endorses Dean The news actually 'broke' yesterday, with a bunch of 'this is about to happen' articles, but now it's official: Al Gore has endorsed Howard Dean's presidential campaign. ➡
- Stradivarius' secret While I've never had the opportunity to hear one in person, nearly anyone involved in the world of music is aware of the near-legendary quality of the instruments created by Italian violin maker Antonio Stradivari. ➡
- LotR Research Project A team of researchers is going to be looking for our impressions of Peter Jackson's films, with the questionnaire going live the day that Return of the King opens. Could be interesting… ➡
