How funny…apparently, whoever you are, you entirely misunderstood why I found all of Jenna’s babbling amusing.
For the record, I do know who the Sex Pistols are (and have for many, many years), I only heard about Avril Lavigne from a friend yesterday and have yet to hear any of her music, and I only wear ties (neck or bow) when I can’t find a way out of it.
I’ve rarely (if ever) made any claims to how ‘cool‘ I am or am not. I’ve never claimed to be punk (though I’ve often, at times, been accused of being goth, something which amused me as much as being labeled punk would have). If punk is dead, it’s probably because of self-righteous twerps that leave messages like this, that rather than doing anything to further what little punk movement might still be around, just give the impression that anyone associating themself with the punk label is an annoying little git.

I think that this is all a big joke. Noone would ever run off saying that John Lydon (Johnny rotten) and the Sex Pistols are gay, and go on about Sum and shit. For the most part, I’m quite content to let this page sit here and pick up the occasional comment. Most of these have ranged from amusing to ridiculous, but as yet I’ve only had one that I felt the need to delete.
I did, however, want to jump in really quickly with two quick notes.
First off, as I hit 30 in just over two months, I’m somewhat amused at being labeled a ‘kid’ — but I’ll take it as a compliment.
Secondly, no, I don’t think I’d have “kicked Jenna’s ass.” Partly because I’ve also been leaning towards the opinion that “Jenna’s” site is in all likelihood a joke, but also because I’m just not much of one for kicking anyone’s ass, let alone for as silly and stupid a reason as this would be.
In the end, whether or not it’s a joke, it made me laugh when I found it, and the subsequent “conversation” here has also provided amusement from time to time. Works for me. I now return all of you to vigorously defending how “punk” you, me, Jenna, or each other are or are not. Have fun!

Actually, no, I’m not going to delete your post. I’m fairly open to what people post on my site for the most part, as long as it’s not spam or overly nasty/vulgar/racist personal attacks (which will be deleted if I feel it necessary). I might laugh at it (as I’ve been laughing at a good number of the rest of the responses on this page), but that’s about as far as I’ll go.
Mostly, I’m just amused and somewhat amazed that this two-year old post is still picking up comments — and that so many of the comments that are left are so depressingly badly written and expressed.
Jenna’s ramblings — which may be real and may be a spoof — amused me at the time, and truth to tell, they still do. But the continuing stream of barely-literate defenses and definitions of “punk” (or “emo”, or anything else that’s been mentioned) have proven to be far more entertaining than what Jenna posted.
