Renovation is fun!

This entry was published at least two years ago (originally posted on October 29, 2002). Since that time the information may have become outdated or my beliefs may have changed (in general, assume a more open and liberal current viewpoint). A fuller disclaimer is available.

Oh, now this could get interesting. Our building just started undergoing renovation — new carpets and paint in the hallways, a few new units being put in, upgrades to the heating system (I think), things like that. A minor pain, but nothing too bad, right?

That’s what I thought, until I got home and found this note:

Oops, oops, oops oops.

The laundry room just got blown up. Sorry guys, the renovation project is going faster than anticipated and the basement level is closed. They were going to try to keep the laundry open for as long as possible, however it may be closed for up to two months.

Nevertheless, it will be beautiful when it reopens.

Please help us out by being patient.

Joy. I wonder where the closest laundromat is?
