Saw Serenity last night — Prairie and I got to hang out with eckstacie, sgtjesse and [oblique_ref], saw ogremarco, got donuts from the people in line right in front of us who were playing Buffypoker (Buffy playing cards) and betting with Gummi Worms, and talked with a lot of the fans, browncoats, and assorted self-described “geeks and freaks” around us. Much fun was had.
The movie…I’m still letting it percolate. And I’ve gotta get in gear to go to work. More later.
My review: “Shut up and see it.” Well, to most people. The other few hold none of the following things in high opinion: Decent plot, Firefly, women who emanate “Fear me” auras better than any man could, Kaylee, cool chase scenes, or much explosions. I prefer them all, myself. I walked out and said, “So, who wants to get in line again?”
It was a really good experience. I received an unsolicited Spoiler before the movie, but that little tidbit of information actually enhanced the experience. I ended up having a completely different reaction to certain scenes to most other people.
