My Father’s Eyes

This entry was published at least two years ago (originally posted on June 10, 2006). Since that time the information may have become outdated or my beliefs may have changed (in general, assume a more open and liberal current viewpoint). A fuller disclaimer is available.

Dad, early 70’s:

The more I see of my dad’s photography as he scans in old slides and posts them to his Flickr pages, the more it becomes clear to me where my eye for photography came from. Few exact matches, but lots of similarities in the compositions and subjects that we like.

Thanks, Dad!

  1. I love all the little ways how our parents leave these imprints on us. Granted they are not always positive but I tend to recognise these little positive imprints on my personality and my opinions that make me a better person. All my parents’ legacy after they go. I’m glad to carry these things from them and make them my own. One day, I’ll pass them on to my children as well.
