Since I’ll hit 20 years of blogging this November, this year I’m posting a daily list of anything I published on this day in the past.

- 📚 Unspoken Truth by Margaret Wander Bonnano I found the latter half far less engaging than the first, but overall, I liked diving more into Saavik’s character. ➡
- 🎥 Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves I really want the portal staff, and the pudgy dragon was particularly great. ➡
- 🎥 Scream VI Another enjoyable entry to a franchise that started strong and even in its weaker moments is still pretty consistently entertaining. ➡
- Year 50 Day 18 Inadvertently fulfilled my personal 'creepy old white guy in the grocery store' quota. ➡

- Silliness: Medical Notes An e-mail from Mom. Normally I don't pass these kinds of things on (via e-mail or the web), especially when they're already posted on Snopes (this one is listed as 'Undetermined'), but this one had both Prairie and I in stitches (no pun intended) as we read through it. Lots of good arguments for the importance of clarity in writing in here! ➡
- Eight Point Three I have no idea how I ended up on their radar, but I've just been rated an 8.3 on Blogged.com, some form of directory and rating site for weblogs. ➡

- Is Pixar a ‘boys only’ club? Honestly, I'd never even thought about this until Prairie brought it up after we watched one of the trailers for Cars, when its predominantly male-centric theme got her started thinking about the rest of Pixar's oevure. Just where are the girls in Pixar films? ➡

- Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith In brief and spoiler-free: I know Episode I stank, and Episode II was better, but still nowhere near what we'd all been hoping for. Episode III, while not perfect, is _far_ better than either of the prior two prequels, and -- believe it or not -- stands as a worthy addition to the series. ➡

- Attention Royce: New Thomas Covenant novels I still need to read the first Thomas Covenant novels. Yes, the ones you've been telling me to read since we met in 4th grade (or whenever you read them, I suppose). I'll get around to it one of these days, I swear… ➡
- Seattle Central Library: Everybody’s talking about it Lots of links to information, photographs, and reviews of the new Seattle Central Library. ➡
- Troy in 15 Minutes Too, too funny: Troy in Fifteen Minutes. ➡

- XXX A willing suspension of disbelief is one thing, but when the fight scenes in both Matrix films pay more attention to the laws of physics than the stunts in XXX, it's really not a good sign. ➡
- Then I have to go When I'm with a boy I like, it's hard for me to say anything cool, or witty — or at all. I can usually make a few vowel sounds, and then I have to go away. ➡
- Reclaiming the Public Domain The idea is a simple one: Fifty years after a work has been published, the copyright owner must pay a $1 maintanence fee. If the copyright owner pays the fee, then the copyright continues. If the owner fails to pay the fee, the work passes into the public domain. Based on historical precedent, we expect 98% of copyrighted works would pass into the public domain after just 50 years. They could keep Mickey for as long as Congress lets them. But we would get a public domain. ➡

- Frikkin’ Major Tom!!! I got to go to another concert last night -- Peter Murphy! It was an absolutely incredible show. He focused mostly on songs from his most recent album, Dust, but also tossed in a few of his more popular songs from other older albums, including both 'Crystal Wrists' and 'Roll Call'. ➡
