- Desperation Someone just came to my site via a Google search for 'oh god give me a job i need a fucking job just give me a job i want a job okay'. ➡
- Fall ’06 TV Plans So that's the TV plan for the next few months. A lot more than I used to do, and all subject to being preempted by school, work, or other major life events...but it's nice to have some downtime every so often. ➡

- A few general updates on life I haven't really done one of these in a while, so I figured it was about time. Work goes well as I get used to being a salesperson, and fun with scheduling effects everything from planned trips to Alaska to how much 'puter time I'm getting. ➡

- Okay, okay…85-90% straight I've believed for a long time that the three major classifications of sexuality — straight, gay, and bisexual — are inherently limiting, and fairly unrealistic. Rather than lumping everyone into one of three categories, I've always figured it's more of a sliding scale…or possibly something along the lines of an inverse bell curve, with same-sex attraction on one side and opposite-sex attraction on the other. ➡
- Of nuance and nuisances We have to get back to the place we were, where terrorists are not the focus of our lives, but they're a nuisance. ➡
- National Coming Out Day Terrance reminded me that today is National Coming Out day. My best wishes to any of you choosing to come out today, and of course, to all of you who already have. ➡
- Dreams So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable. ➡
- The Death of Superman 'Superman' actor Christopher Reeve, who turned personal tragedy into a public crusade and from his wheelchair became the nation's most recognizable spokesman for spinal cord research, has died. He was 52. ➡
- Bush’s Dred Scott reference Remember when Bush made the odd reference to the Dred Scott case during his answer to what kind of Supreme Court justice he'd appoint in the second debate? It didn't seem to make a lot of sense, and had a lot of people confused. Looks like one of the diarists on Daily Kos may have stumbled upon the answer — it's right-wing code for abortion. ➡

- Kinda freaky – voices from the past …the legitimate government of Kuwait will be restored to its rightful place, and Kuwait will once again be free. Iraq will eventually comply with all relevant United Nations resolutions, and then, when peace is restored, it is our hope that Iraq will live as a peaceful and cooperative member of the family of nations, thus enhancing the security and stability of the Gulf. ➡
- Wired goes CSS As is typical for movements like this, it's the 'little people' that start the ball rolling (in this case, primarily weblogs and personal sites), then the 'big boys' follow. Today, one of the first major, heavy-traffic sites has unveiled their new standards-compliant design — Wired. ➡
- iMac caught with PC in illicit love nest In a surprise development that has rocked the computing world today, paparazzi have made public a photograph of Apple's popular iMac computer cavorting poolside with what appears to be a Microsoft Windows-based PC. ➡
