Year 50 Day 103

August 13, 2023 by Michael Hanscom

My wife and I, both masked, standing in Seattle’s King Street Station train station, all old white marble and ornate white ceilings. Behind and above us is an Amtrak departures board.

Day 103: It’s adventure time! We’re heading off for our summer vacation. Where to? You’ll just have to wait and see. First step: Seattle’s historic King Street Station, so I suppose it’s a little obvious that we’re getting on a train….

Me kicked back in a seat of the train station lobby. I’m masked and wearing a black cap, black t-shirt with rainbow Seattle logo, black kilt, and purple converse.

A wide angle view of King Street Station, showing the classic wooden benches, white and grey marble pillars, and ornate white ceiling panels. A line of passengers wait to board a train.

The ceiling of the train station shot from directly underneath a large chandelier.

AI Declaration

This site is written by me without the use of generative AI for text, images or anything else. I have decades of experience in creating artisanally hand-crafted typos and errors and have no interest in statistically generating my mistakes.

If I post videos I have created, iterative (traditional) AI may be used for a first pass at creating captions, but all captions are then verified and corrected before being embedded.

Old Post Disclaimer

My views, beliefs, and thoughts have changed over time, and there are many things in my archives that I would not write the same way today, if at all. In general, I have moved steadily to the political left; my current beliefs put me in the category of "progressive left" as defined by the Pew research group. Posts over two years old will have a disclaimer automatically added at the top of the page. For more background, read my "Change is Good" post.
