Not even subtle

This entry was published at least two years ago (originally posted on October 13, 2003). Since that time the information may have become outdated or my beliefs may have changed (in general, assume a more open and liberal current viewpoint). A fuller disclaimer is available.

Our Father, who art in the White House...

Wow.

This AP photo of President Bush has me alternating between disgust and slack-jawed amazement, and I’m not sure whether to pass on kudos to the photographer or have them drawn and quartered.

For now, I’ll just admit that, whether it was staged or just a lucky shot, it’s as brilliant as it is disturbing.

  1. i vote for drawn and quartered.

my guess is that the bushies had that halo set up and had the president practice putting his head in just the right spot.

cynical, i know, but this administration demands cynicism.

  2. i wasn’t that surprised actually – they had a picture like this for bush on the Most Wanted deck for the American asses.

    I’ll quote thirdparty’s comment on Kos’s blog:

This was taken in November of last year.

And this was taken in February 2000 on the campaign trail.

And no one can forget this from last summer.”

Media sensationalism, or government posturing? At this point it’s rather difficult to tell…
