    • The 2019 P. K. Dick Award Nominees have been announced! I’ll be reading all six books before the awards ceremony at Norwescon 42 — can you do the same? Join the Reading Challenge in the Norwescon Goodreads Group and read along with the rest of us! 📚

    • Third straight day of below zero temps in the morning. At least today we have things arranged such that we don’t have to leave the house!

    • Heading out on today’s #mlk #peacemarch. @cwupride
    • Students and faculty gathering for a #mlk #peacemarch this afternoon. #CWUpride
    • It’s this year’s #PKDickAward nominees! I have until March 25th (Friday at #nwc39) to get these read…and the first trend I’m noticing is that there are no small books this year! (Okay, Nexus and Crux aren’t nominees, but Apex is, and it’s the third book in that trilogy, so need to read the other two […]

    • Mid-January, and it’s sunny and 51 degrees outside. Not complaining (and not as grumpy as I look in this shot), but it is odd.
    • All but one of my P. K. Dick novels arrived today (one’s on back order). Yay MOAR BOOKS! Now, which to read first…?

    • I’m a Winner! A few weeks ago, I stumbled across the Forgotten Bookmarks weblog, and started following his (?) Twitter account as well. Every so often he runs a simple giveaway contest, and it seems that today, my number came out of the magic hat!

    • Clumsy Headlines Seattle Police Reportedly Kill Man With Knife -- as written, grammatically, that tells me that the police stabbed a man to death. But that can't be right, can it?
    • Links for January 12th through January 14th Sometime between January 12th and January 14th, I thought this stuff was interesting. You might think so too! • Report Finds Online Threats to Children Overblown • Found Footage: Good grief, NCIS, do you take us for fools? • Runnin' With The Songsmith • “The Recently Deflowered Girl” (1965) – Illustrated by Edward Gorey • Hardware that supports iPhoto '09's geotagging - The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW) • Rock Paper Scissors Spock Lizard

    • Gallimaufry 4 Same deal: ten songs at random…
    • Homeless Vet My mind misinterpreted a sign I saw while walking back to work from lunch, and I ended up spending the next few moments contemplating a world with destitute veterinatarians on the street corners, holding up their handmade cardboard signs as people walked by, begging for 'Spare Change or Sick Puppies?'

    • Green oblivion awaits Woke up this morning with a head cold, and it's just gotten worse as the day's gone by. I've been drinking OJ like it was water all day, and just popped two NyQuil tablets, so hopefully I'll be feeling a little more human by tomorrow.
    • Wall St. Journal mocks Rachel Corrie’s death Right-wing weblog Little Green Footballs has awarded Rachel Corrie their 'idiotarian of the year' award, and the Wall Street Journal has seen fit to include this in a 'Best of the Web' roundup.
    • uhrgh My node id stubbed up, my head hurds, my throad id raw…today's gonna suck.

    • Yahoo's getting pushy again Yahoo is now using something called 'Web Beacons' to track Yahoo Group users around the net and see what you're doing — similar to cookies. Take a look at their updated privacy statement.
    • Switch to MySQL After struggling with things for a few hours tonight, I've managed to succesfully convert the database backend for MovableType to MySQL.

    • Ruminations on Star Wars It's funny, I just watched the whole trilogy last night for the first time in ages. People complained about EP1 being too cartoony and kid friendly. Have you ever watched these movies? Except for Empire, they're as kid-friendly as anything Nickelodeon puts out. Jar-Jar would have fit right in.
    • Quotebook updates I believe Royce may end up with more links to his site from mine alone than from the rest of the 'net in totality. Never let it be said I never do a friend a favor -- no matter how completely goofball it may be.
    • Kate and Leopold End result from both of us -- cute flick. Probably a matinee or renter rather than an evening show, but definitely fun to watch.

    • Wanna download a 70 MB .mp3 file? Well, I'd tried posting my .mp3 files to Napster, but was getting reports from a couple people that they couldn't find me online. So, I just added download links for each of my mixsessions to my dj'ing propaganda page -- feel free to check them out!
