    • Abstract Rose I'm still here. Just working on playing catchup after a very eventful (but very fun) few days. I'll get more up here soon...in the meantime, keep an eye on my Flickr stream. ;)

    • War of the Worlds Verdict: very well done, brilliant and extremely effective effects sequences, several nice nods to the 1953 film version, as true to H. G. Wells' book as it could be given the modern-day setting...but with two major flaws that, to me, end up making this one a renter.
    • Office Depot bootlegs I stopped by the downtown Seattle Office Depot on lunch to do some coveting, and had to wonder how customers were expected to compare the quality of the various LCD displays when they were all playing a highly-compressed video of music videos taken from CMT's broadcast stream.
    • Podcast 03: Difficult Listening Hour 04 I'm posting a series of mix sessions I did a few years back. This is Difficult Listening Hour 04 (1h 14m 27s, 85.39Mb). Download, drop into your .mp3 player, and -- hopefully -- enjoy!

    • Apple’s getting into weblogging Very interesting tidbit of information about the server version of OS X 10.4/Tiger in Apple's preview pages: they're including a 'weblog server' based on the blojsom project, which in itself is based on the blosxom weblogging software.
    • NYT interview with Ron P. Reagan There's a very interesting interview with Ron P. Reagan (President Reagan's son) in the Times today. I like the way this man thinks.

    • Red wine Regardless of how Apple corporate wants to portray its products, the Mac isn't a machine for the masses any more than red wine is the preferred beverage at baseball games. To be honest, the masses don't have the capability to appreciate the elegance and depth of this platform.
    • Dean supporters at Pride Day It was nice to see a good contingent of Dean supporters out and about during the festivities today. I've got a few pictures of them, but they're pretty buried in the photo album, so here's some direct links…
    • Seattle Gay Pride Day 2003 Had an absolute blast out and about today at the Pride Day festivities. Lots of fun — tons of pictures can be found in the photo gallery. Enjoy!
    • Katharine Hepburn dies Life's what's important. Walking, houses, family. Birth and pain and joy -- and then death. Acting's just waiting for the custard pie. That's all.
