Ooops — and I thought I was late last week, when the mix showed up in the afternoon instead of the morning. This time, I’m two days late! Sorry about that…. In any case, here’s the next of my mixes to go up. We’re moving back into longer sessions again, with this one coming in at just under an hour. Of all the mixes I’ve had sitting around, this is one of my top three favorites, with my third favorite being last week’s ‘ToriMix’, and my top favorite coming next week.

Incidentally, DJ H. Geek (aka Kory Roth), the artist behind the second track in this mix, is a friend of mine from back in Anchorage who I used to DJ with at Gig’s. As a fan of Tori and bouncing around on the dance floor, this one was probably bound to come out sooner or later during my DJ days.

This one is another “theme” idea I had, and depending on how much you like the base song, could be either enjoyable or excruciating, as it strings together four versions of the same theme into one 22-minute track. I actually like it…kind of dreamy background music.

There is a DLH03, but I’ve decided to hold off on posting that one just yet as, quite honestly, the mixing in the current version of DLH03…well, it sucks. Very train wreck-y.

I was hoping to be able to re-mix DHL03 last night so that I could continue posting these in order, but I’m still figuring out the mixing software I have and, well, apparently I didn’t do something quite right.

Not many — but even one more than myself was enough to get my attention.

Prompted by that, and egged on by having a server that’s able to serve things out at a decent speed, I thought I’d start posting my old mix sessions again.

Okay, folks — for better or for worse (but hopefully not too much worse), I spent some time playing around in GarageBand over the past couple of days. The result: Depeche Mode’s ‘Flexible’ and ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’ plus Prince’s ‘1999’ equals DJ Wüdi – Just Can’t Get Flexible in 1999 (7.8Mb MP3).

It’s my first attempt at creating a mashup rather than just listening to ’em. Probably not likely to make it to the top of the charts, but I don’t think it’s too terribly bad for a first try.

Update: I’ve made some slight tweaks to the track (mostly moving the rap section back by a few bars, it was coming in too early in the first version) and replaced the download file with v2. If you haven’t downloaded this yet, you’re set, otherwise feel free to re-download the updated mix.
