Recently, some friends of mine (BlackHappy) went on a tour of the U.S. I am curious if anyone on the Net saw them, and if so, what did you think?

First off, I’m insanely jealous whenever someone casually starts off a post about BlackHappy with “some friends of mine….” Anway…

They came up here to Anchorage for two shows, but, unfortunately, I managed to miss them both. Very upset…however, I have managed to pick up both Friendly Dog Salad and Peghead, and am very hooked…if you could pass on my appreciation (and generic fandom) to your friends (ergh!), I’d appreciate it…

Was curious if anyone else out there had discovered Blackhappy…incredibly good band. Two guitarists, two drummers, a bass, two trombones and a sax…lots of sound, powerful music. Two albums out…Friendly Dog Salad and, more recently, Peghead. Both good, FDS is more funky…I like Peghead better. If it was possible to wear out a CD, I’d be doing it…

Hello, anyone know how many pressings were made of the special 3 inch CD included in the first releases of Broken by NIN. Also which countries got this release and does anyone know the song titles. One’s an Adam Ant cover, and I think the other is Pigface?

Thanks.

Don’t know the technical info (only that I got the 3-incher up here in Alaska), but the songs are “Too Physica” by Adam Ant, and “Suck” by Pigface. Suck is available on a couple different Pigface albums in a couple different versions…don’t have ’em myself (wish I did) but heard ’em at a friends…

B.S.
If anyone knows from which book this is probably taken, please tell me.

I’m not sure if I remember all of them from this book, but I remember seeing some in a book I picked up in England years ago…something about Mistaikes (sic). Don’t know for sure, tho…

Has anybody heard about any new releases from Tori Amos and Seal? It seems like it’s been a long time since Little Earthquakes and Winter, let alone Seal’s CD from some time back.

Anything you can tell me, I’d like to know…

Don’t know anything about Seal, but I’ve seen a few Tori Amos import singles at some local stores…not exactly a new release, but some of them have some songs not on her album…

Does anybody know any cds with Gregorian chants? I need to find some for my fiance. What I’m looking for would be similar in style to the ones used on Sadeness by Enigma. Looking for the chants only, no drum or other instruments. We need to sample them for a song that we’re doing called ‘Behind Enchantments Veil’. Thanks in advance.

I’ve got two…not sure where they came from though. One’s on RCA Victor (Swquentiae: Gregorian Chant/K. Ruhland [GD 71953]), the other on ProArte (Gregorian Chants * Ruhland [CDD 287]). Got ’em as presents a while ago. Oh, that first album should be Sequentiae. Can’t type…<grin>

Bingo…you’ve probably got a ton of answers to this already, but the song is “You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth” off of Meatloaf’s first album, Bat Out Of Hell. Good, good album…awesome music.

“Animal” (all the versions) have got to be some of my favorites along with the original versions of “Melt” and “Religion”…out of the two new albums.

Actually, I’ve never quite sat down and puzzled out which track is which song, especially on the newer album. No numbers on the sleeve, 14 listed titles on the inside, and another (apparent) three titles on the back of the sleeve. My guess is that Animal is split into three parts…end up with 16 tracks, which works out right with the disc. Odd, though…just what are the bits on the back of the sleeve then?

Also, picked up a single for Religion…good remixes, including a really fast techno version remixed by the Prodigy…two mixes of Crapage by the Orb, and having the Orb remixing 242 is just bizarre…and one fun mix of Religion with lots of samples from Deep Throat. True oddities…but good stuffs.

All I know is that the local Mucusland (Musicland) moved the date in their little book for his new album from October/November to January. Ergh…starting to get torqued at this!

Am on a quest of sorts…

According to a DJ at the local college radio station (88.1 KRUA, if you’re ever up in Anchorage AK), there was a sampler put out by Hollywood records a while back with a remix (not remake) of Queen’s Stone Cold Crazy, remixed by Trent Reznor. I’ve heard it on the station twice, but never been able to find it…

Would anyone have an idea as to the name of the sampler, whether it’s still available, or where I might be able to get ahold of it? Local record stores have been next to no help…

Any help is greately appreciated…
