    • I’m (almost) an uncle! Emily started labor last night, and so Kevin just called to let me know that he's flying back to Mississippi to be there for the birth of his baby! Apparently things are still early in the process — the hospital sent Em home last night after she went in — so chances are good that Kev will be able to be there for the birth. ➡

    • Happy Birthday Jacqueline Prairie and I spent a very pleasant evening last night at Jacqueline Passey's birthday party. There was a wonderfully odd mix of people there, as she'd invited people from all the various disparate areas of her life: webloggers, economists, libertarians, sci-fi conventionists, and school friends. Needless to say, this made for quite a few very interesting conversations over the course of the night, and we both enjoyed ourselves. ➡
