- Got a great present from Prairie today! We got to see this at last year’s #Worldcon (Sasquan), and thought it was great (in the “really cheesy B movie” sense of the word). She remembered it after seeing me talking about the #hugoawards, and ordered us a copy. Yay #Australiens! (238/366) ➡

- Outside the Canadian Parliament, waiting for a free guided tour and listening to Queen Victoria (not as demised as rumored, apparently) tell us about the history of the area. #latergram ➡
- We crossed the border into a foreign country and consumed substances illegal in the United States! #latergram #kindereggs ➡
- Photo bombed by a woolly mammoth! #latergram ➡
- Photo bombed by Queen Victoria! #latergram ➡
- This morning, just off the ferry and on Canadian soil. “So we’re Canadians now, right? That’s how it works?” “I don’t think so.” #latergram ➡
- This morning, somewhere between the U.S. and Canada. We’d just seen a whale off to one side of the ferry! #latergram ➡
- On the ferry to Canada – off for an international adventure! #heycoho ➡

- The complimentary newspaper lets Batman get a handle on the local criminal underground. Such as it is. ➡
- Our hotel is in very easy walking distance of the train station – which will be great for taking the train up to the state fair on Friday! #vacation ➡
- At my folks’ place for dinner. I do like seeing real mountains out the windows. ➡
- Batman likes clouds. “That one looks like a dragon! And that one’s a fishie! Er…fish. Got excited. Sorry.” ➡
- Tuts out Batman likes crime capers for his in-flight entertainment. ➡

- Links for August 22nd through August 25th Sometime between August 22nd and August 25th, I thought this stuff was interesting. You might think so too! ➡

- Dance Off 2006 On something of a whim, thanks to having an evening when I wasn't working and nothing was planned, Prairie and I decided to head down to an event I'd just stumbled across earlier in the day: Dance Off 2006, an annual competition held in the Seattle area for people who want to prove that they have the heart and soul of a dancer, even though they do not have the training of a dancer. ➡

- Boxes Everywhere! Our living room is filled with boxes. Some full, some partially emptied, some waiting to be broken down and taken out to the recycling...but it's still a _lot_ of boxes. Most of mine are still over at my old apartment, too. The end result is going to be nice, but _man_ is moving a pain in the butt. ➡

- I had an *rtion More with me finding humor in places I really probably shouldn't. ➡
- Just keep calm My, what amazingly calm passengers those planes had. ➡
- Cheney suddenly supports gay marriage Talk about flip-flopping. Dick Cheney, who until now, despite having an openly lesbian daughter, has steadfastly stuck with the party line on gay marriage, suddenly seems to be a little more open-minded about the issue. ➡

- Another lie Despite the Bush administration's public assertions, these unmanned aerial vehicles weren't designed to dispense biological or chemical weapons. ➡
- Why I hate George W. Bush When I look at George W. Bush, I don't see a patriot. I see a lying, psychopathic narcissist. And it pains me, it grieves me, it WOUNDS me to realize that this puts me not only in the minority… but in the 'whacko fringe.' ➡
- SoBig virus source found Security teams have tracked down the original source for the recent SoBig F virus — however, the author is still unknown. ➡
- Dark Suckers For years, it has been believed that electric bulbs emit light, but recent information has proved otherwise. Electric bulbs don't emit light; they suck dark. Thus, we call these bulbs Dark Suckers. ➡
- Disney goes Goth (also: 'Bus Life' fan comments) For the fifth year in a row, Disneyland will be creeping with mobs of black-clad death-rocker types for what organizers officially bill as Bats Day in the Fun Park, but what most people just call Goth Day. (Also: Disney's 'Bus Life' fan comments!) ➡
- Howard Dean rally in Seattle I was already solidly in Dean's camp before this, but being able to see him in person definitely cemented my position — here's hoping that his momentum keeps growing, and we can get him not just the Democratic nomination, but the Presidency in 2004. ➡

- A few more movies I added three more DVD's to the collection over the weekend. The Black Cauldron, The Cook, the Thief, his Wife, and her Lover, From Dusk 'til Dawn. ➡
